| ALCIDES BAIÃO Born in Remanso, on the 15th of April 1964 in the northeastern Brazilian city of Bahia. In 1990 gained 1st place in a painting competition (oil on canvas) promoted by the Education and Culture Secretariat of Bahia. Invited to exhibit at the 2nd Bahian art exhibition (in Salvador Bahia)…comes to Portugal where he studies drawing at A.R.C.O (90-91), participates in the Galeria Monumental Workshop, in Lisbon (92). Since then has been drawing, painting and sculpturing full-time. Lives from art and for art, having participated in several exhibitions. Since March 2000 has had a permanent painting and sculpturing exhibition at the Ritz Hotel (Lisbon). In addition to having his works included in the private collection of this hotel, he is also represented in Galleries and private collections in Portugal and abroad, namely the United States, Canada, Switzerland and Brazil. Is currently developing a multimedia project entitled IN VERSO between Portugal and Brazil.
